Overview
The Gateway is K2's beginner-to-intermediate all-mountain deck: a directional twin with a medium-soft flex and a catch-free directional rocker profile. An aspen core with K2's carbon-glass laminate gives it noticeably more snap than the fully soft boards in this class, which is why it suits learners who want one board to carry them into varied terrain. Two things to know before buying. First, the profile is directional rocker; K2's combination-camber version of this idea is the newer Gateway Pop, a stiffer board aimed a step further up the ability ladder. Second, the plain Gateway is being phased out in favor of that Pop, so 2026 stock is closeout: sizes are thinning while prices are excellent.
